IncestPlaneta
IncestPlaneta is a research-based artistic project examining natural disasters, extinction, and survival through the lens of prehistory and evolutionary biology. Inspired by the 2004 Aceh earthquake and research at the Sangiran Archaeological Site in Central Java, the project reflects on how tectonic shifts have shaped both ancient ecosystems and human civilization.
The project focuses on the geological formation of the Sangiran dome—created by tectonic activity—where prehistoric river systems exposed sediment layers dating back millions of years. This natural archive of extinction and survival forms the narrative basis for the project.
The performance takes place within a bamboo dome installation which presents a model for earthquake-resistant architecture. Using projection mapping, sound art, and visual storytelling, the project traces the evolution of life from single-celled organisms to humans, highlighting the vulnerability of civilizations in the face of natural forces.
